No but his attempts to enter politics after the mess he left last time have been a complete failure. The guy is grasping for straws and gasping for breath.

Vote him down again. Send a strong message: we do not want you. For sheriff, for governor, for dog catcher or meter maid. Retire. Fade away. Save the last scrap of your dignity for your relative's sake.

It doesn't really matter what office he runs for sheriff, president, mayor, leader of the neighbourhood watch. He will be wasting his time and money if no one supports him. I hope voters send him a clear message. He is not suitable and not wanted.

I saw the article when it came out and wanted to vomit. Because, sadly, too many people thought his tough on crime attitude was great. They don't see him for the bully he is. They fail to recognize how much of their tax dollars went to his defense and to pay the fines against him for continuing to illegally target Hispanics.

I wish some mainstream paper in Phoenix and Maricopa County would publish an article explaining how the charges coming from him doing these things as part of his job as sheriff means that the public pays for his defense and not him as an individual. I wish they would then explicitly detail exactly how much money was spent on each defense and each fine. Maybe if the voters realized it was all money out of their pockets as taxpayers they would stop seeing his actions as accolades. They aren't going to stop supporting him because AZ is such a tough on crime state and under the belief that only guilty scum are in jail/prison. The voters don't care about treating inmates humanely, but they do care about their pocketbooks and wallets.

I can't with this guy. I guess he felt that the temporary rise in nationalism was his moment to make a comeback. Good on Maricopa for nipping that in the bud.

Joe Arpaio loses bid for his old position as sheriff
"Former Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio narrowly lost his campaign to get his old job back Friday, ending a nearly successful comeback for one of the state's most polarizing figures."

Joe Arpaio is now promising to not run for public office again. Even so, his former top deputy is the candidate who defeated him in this primary. That means Arizona can still vote for Arpaio junior for Sheriff in November. He says he will reinstate all of Joe's (illegal) policies if he is elected..

Hopefully they've been put on alert and vote appropriately. There is still time to keep him out.

Joe would be tough on criminals. Better than what we are currently doing. Read your indictment . It usually includes a statement that you disturbed the peace of the state you offended in. Man up and admit it,at least to yourself.

If Joe gets convicted again, he may not have Trump around to pardon him the next time. Joe was tough on criminals, as long as they weren't white, and especially not if it's Joe himself.

I'd love to see him on national TV, being marched down the street in pink underwear, like the "perp walk press conference" he orchestrated when he moved all of the inmates to the "new jail".
