Hi,
Hoping someone can answer this for me... On the Offender Locator it gives the persons name, Age, when they came into the Ca. system, Prison, directions. My question is... The age... Is that the age they are now or when they entered the system?? They don't give a birth date and I am curious.. TY

It is their age now and when they first got a CDC prison number.
The loction can be off by a few weeks at times so if your planning a visit, make sure they are there.

hello ladies I need some help on this. Okay my babe was transferred from San Quentin Reception to Corcoran today. And I've just now called Corcoran records and gave the lady my babe's CDC# and she seeing that he's been transferred from Corcoran to Lancaster. Also I've told her that my babe was transferred from San Quentin to Corcoran, and she said that he must of stopped at Corcoran then went here (Lancaster), but when I've checked the inmate locator it shows that he's at Corcoran. So I'm stuck at this point so should i just keep checking the inmate locator or should i just wait till my babe writes me. Thanks.

I would call Lancaster and tell them Corcoran said he came there and recently arrived. They should be able to tell you,if not right away then in a few days.

My man is at the LAC and is transferring to CCI soon. When a transfer is done, should I call this number to see when his transfer is complete? Is this how this works?

My man is moving to CCI soon. It looks like the best option is to call the new prison to make sure he made it safely. Thanks for the info.

Londons,
You can look him up online and it should show you where he is.
If he'd going to CCI, after a short time he should be able to call you and give you his new mailing addy.
(or you could call them and ask for it)

If they are moved to a new facility I suggest sending writing supplies and some $$ on their account.
Their personal items can be slow in getting back to them at times and they usually want to write after a move.

When searching the inmate shows up but the "location" is left blank. What would cause this? In the past it was always showing.

Don't know why exactly that happens but it does, just keep checking. My LO is supposed to be transferred (not soon enough) so I keep checking and that's what happened one time I was checking. I just checked later during the day and eventually his prison showed up.

I search a few friends and it doesn't list the right prison for where they are. It hasn't updated their names since 2004. They all have moved a few times since?? Idk it's weird. Half the time it tells me no inmate found. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Hey I've never had this problem. When my dad moved to another prison it usually updated within a week or two. It was pretty quick actually, and he moved quite a bit. But he was incarcerated in 2010 so it was much more recent. Thats very weird that its doing that to you! Hopefully you got it figured out.

Good afternoon

I have a few questions I have a brother I have not talked to for about 6 years. I just found out he is in pleasant valley State prison. Is there any way I can find out what he is in for? Other than ask him. last time I talked to him is when my Father died Not sure why... (guess he is just hurting)

Oh, lol trust me if there was a website that told us that info, I would have been the FIRST to have found out about it :-). But no, I remember one of the operators from the inmate locator hotline (years & years ago) told me that by (CA) law, the state is not allowed to give out that info... that's why they tell us to ask the inmate them self... So i doubt they will ever have a website like that, with exception to the Megans Law website. It sucks, i know :-(

I think it depends on the county he got arrested in. I know my county has a court website that has anyone's history if they ever been charged and it does say his charges and how much time they were sentenced to.

If you want to know what he is charged for pull his records from the court. Not sure what area you are in but I was able to go to the superior court site (los Angeles) and pay $5 and pull all his convictions. it will list the penal codes and you can look them up online.
