Default Caught with Tattoo Gun: Can he still get in a Fire Camp?

How serious is it to be caught with a tattoo gun? Does this ruin his chances of getting in to fire camp?

It's a major charge and can get him time in segregation depending on his past infractions. Compared to other things...too vague. I mean it's minor compared to murder but pretty minor compared to a messy cell.

15 CCR § 3315 states:
Quote:
(a) Inmate misconduct reported on a RVR shall be classified serious if:
(1) It is a serious disciplinary offense not specified as administrative in section 3314(a)(3), an offense punishable as a misdemeanor, whether or not prosecution in undertaken, or is a felony, whether or not prosecution is undertaken.
(2) It involves any one or more of the following circumstances:
(D) Tattooing or possession of tattoo paraphernalia.
You can read the possible outcomes HERE

It is a serious rules violation. What needs to be defined is what division type of violation it is. Alright I am going to go way out on a limb here ( not going to read Title 15) on the division of this offense going to call it a Division “D” offenses, looking at a 61–90 days credit loss which can be reinstated after so long of a time with out any other disciplinary actions (usually 180 days clean time)
You can find more in formation in section 3323. Disciplinary Credit Forfeiture Schedule in the Title 15 .along with how 3327. Restoration of Forfeited Credits. works. As far as going to fire camp this Rules violation could hold him up for a some time . It will depend on the Classification Committee. If he is already at fire camp this matter will be dealt with at camp. Here is the link to the Title 15 Current as of 1/1/2017

Thanks! He is up for his annual review Nov 9. I'm so disappointed but hoping that he had it taken care of. He told me he got 30 days, but can get that time reinstated, like you said.

I just want to close the loop on this and say that he did get the 30 days removed and that he did go to Fire Camp! It was fine in the end, but he knows he got lucky and has since not done anything to jeopardize his program.
