Have you checked the TDCJ website? TDCJ Online Offender Search It really only needs his TDCJ# in the appropriate field to find him.

Sometimes, if the inmate's name was spelled incorrectly when it was entered or by us when we do the search or by the person who initially put the info in the computer -- or something like a middle initial is entered either when it's keyed in but not by us or the other way around, the system won't "recognize" the search. Maybe try different spellings of his name?

Also, sometimes it says, Sorry - Offender Not Found **If an offender cannot be found with the correct TDCJ number and clicking on the "Search" button, then the following situations may have occurred. 1. Offender has been recently released and the TDCJ information is no longer available. 2. The offender has been issued a very recent TDCJ number and our data sources have not cataloged the information as of the last data update. Maybe you need to wait a little longer?

Another idea is to try VINELink. Iíve never used it, so I donít know how accurate it is for Texas, but here is what they say to do other than the Texas Online Search. I wish you the best of luck!

Texas Statewide
VINE Service Number : (877) 894-8463
TTY: (866) 847-1298

Texas Statewide Resources

The Texas Statewide Automated Victim Notification System (SAVNS) is a free, anonymous telephone service that gives victims of crime information and notification about offender custody status and related court events. Texas SAVNS provides the following to crime victims and other concerned citizens over the telephone or via the internet at VINELink.

- 24-hour access to offender custody or case information
- The ability to verify an offender's custody status
- Automatic notification to registered users of a change in offender custody or case status

Texas SAVNS provides victims and concerned members of the community with up-to-date information about offenders' county jail custody and court status, 24/7/365 via a single statewide toll-free telephone number (1-877-TX4-VINE).

Information is transferred from participating county databases to the national VINE Operations Center every fifteen minutes. Registered users are then contacted by phone or email if there is a change in status.
