I was told a church can send a Bible. If you find one at a thrift store or wherever cheap you can have it sent by your church .I sent my son one this way. It was not new.http://www.booksthroughbars.org/ Try them out for sending books too.

I just bought a New Living Translation Bible from Amazon for $4.58 + shipping. Amazon seems to be the cheapest way to go. God Bless1

A church or prison ministry can and will send a bible free of charge and a lot of them are more then willing to do so. I would suggest the Gideons, this is what they do or you contact the Chaplain at his prison he will most likely have a lot of suggestions.

Good Luck and God Bless

Lin could you please PM me with your son's information? I know someone here in Dayton that is willing to take care of this for you as a gift but we need your son's info to get it shipped to him. It is a lay minister at my church.

I called the Chaplin where my b/f is in jail and requested one for him. He went over to visit with him and took him a bible. They also have bible correspondence in jail and prison which my b/f does as well. He can ask his chaplin about it if hes interested. They give you a bible certificate once you complete each assignment which is neat.

Call the mail room and find out if you can send one from a store. That's what I did. I sent Brant a new Bible for his birthday this year and I went to the Christian bookstore, gave them his info, and they shipped it to him right from the store where I picked it out and wrote in the inside. It was super easy, and I'm sure you can find a cheap one in the store.

Red face

Don't forget to be sure that what you get him has Jesus words in red because that's what he wants.

Check with the chaplin-- they may make an exception and allow you to send one in through him directly. Best of luck.

I think some of you missed the part about having Jesus' words in RED. Yes, all inmates get a Bible or at least a New Testament - but it isn't any study Bible nor is anything in red. I ordered a very nice study Bible from http://www.Christianbook.com. Yes, it was pricey, but well worth it. Check out Christian Book and see if they have what you're looking for. They have all sorts of Bibles and other good books to send to your men and women in prison. You can also request that they send catalogs to you - and they have sale catalogs on various subjects, including music CDs which your inmate can order.

They now send their catalogs to Doc to look at. He then writes down the items he'd like to order, sends me his list and I order them for him at their web site. Have never ever had any problems with this company.
