Smile Thanks all for the kind support!!

It feels good to be "clean" after a long time of hardship with "the drink". One day at a time is right, though!! Every day is a new one and holds a new challenge...and anyone that thinks they can't do it...here's a thought....think of every day as your last....live it the way you feel you should, and with those you love, and you will never regret it!! .

Sooooooooooooo....I can do a dance to celebrate...I think I will......LOLOL
Yep yep....I feel better now!!!!!!

Oh Cheryl - I think I'll adopt that as my "new philosophy" - live each day as if it were my last - I'm just coming out of a BAD (for me) relationship and think I like how that sounds! (Sorry to "barg into" your thread - just liked your "thought")

First CONGRATS on the sober for a year. That is so wonderful. You keep taking it one day at time and know that we are all here for you and wish you the best.
I wanted to say that your philosophy live each day as it were your last. I have been doing that lately or at least trying to. I have always been one of those "what if I am not here tomorrow what would be the last thing I said to the loved ones." Well I drifted away from my son in a sense as far as not doing as much stuff with him. But now I am going to start again living like its my last. I just wanted to say Thank you for the reminder that philosophy works for a lot of things.
Sorry to go on about my life. I wish you many many more years of being clean, and said a prayer for your court date. Please keep us updated on it. It is good that you accept the fact that we make the choices and have to "pay" for them one way or antoher, May God bless you and fill your heart with joy and happiness. Keep up the great work
Hugs,
Brandi

Congratulations, Cheryl, that's a great accomplishment - a year of sobriety!!! Yay!! If you do have to do time (hopefully you won't), you will probably be able to help others. Keep it up, One Day at A Time!

This is great news--I just had 6 mos. and felt wonderful. The jail time I did for my 2nd DUI (the one that got me sober) was a valuable part of the healing process, and I found a peace while inside that's stayed with me in the months since. Peace to you--and congratulations! Ralph

Thumbs up WTG Ralph!!

Congratulations to you too!! And to ANYONE with an addiction to anything, for staying clean and sober for one day......or 20+ years....my heartfelt congratulations!!

Yes, being as mine is a second DUI also, it was definitely an eye-opener!! I don't always learn from my first mistakes....and this was a prime example for me. BUT....I am well on my way to my new destination........wherever that may be

Default Today is my anniversary

Today 8 years ago I quit drinking and doing drugs.....It was the best thing that I ever did. I get to go tonight and pick up 8yr medallion. My sponsor will give it to me......It is cool because I can get through my husband being in prison, my granny dying and don't have to drink or drug. It is no longer an option for me today. I wanted to share this with you all because you guys are my other family. You all are my other support besides AA and Church. Love jeanne

Talking I Am So Happy For You

((As a friend of Bill W. myself)) I am very happy for you!! It is amazing how our lives change and we grow as people when we put ourselves on the right path. I commend you for your hard work!! I know for me, the hardest part is dealing with daily struggles....I don't sweat the BIG stuff, it's the small stuff that can make me backslide. Take care of you!! I am so proud of you....and if you ever need me....don't hesitate to PM me. Day or night!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! Hold that medallion close to you, you earned it darlin'!! (((KISS))) See, I could not pick just one either!!!
