Seeking Info on Potosi Correctional Center in Missouri

I am seeking information on Potosi prison. My brother was just transferred there this morning. I also believed it was a level 5 camp and my brothers level just dropped to a 2. Anyone understand why he would be back to maximum security when all he is waiting on is treatment before coming home?

Any information would be great.

PCC is not a bad camp. It is a level 5 and they house the death row inmates there. They are mostly in the honor house, in general population. My husband was there for over a year and never had a problem. They can be petty, but mostly if he stays out of trouble, he will be okay and make it to the honor house, where they have more privledges.

As for being reclass'd to a 5, how much time does he have? All offenders with more than 5 years before an outdate on a violent crime are level 5. All other offenders with more than 7 years to an outdate are a level 5. It could be that his time constitutes this classification. Or it could be that he had trouble at another place that required the reclass. If he has a lot of violations his level will jump.

Thank you! No he was not in any trouble his release date is March 2008. Just waiting treatment. Is this honor house what is located off of the camp (work release)? I think he stated that is where he would be moved to.

Most of the level 5 camps have a work release housing unit on the grounds. That would be why he was sent there. So he will not be remotely close to those in the prison. His area is about 1/2 mile away. That makes a big difference! He is still a level 2, just housed there.
