Default If not allowed "good time"...can inmate be considered for parole?

My husband was sentenced to 13 years. His paperwork states that he is not allowed "good time" He is allowed credit for time served in the county jail. I am wondering whether or not he can be considered for parole somewhere down the line, or will he have to max out his sentence?

Since you said that he is not eligible for 'good time', I'm assuming that he has a class A felony. For class A felonies they are eligible for parole. If they aren't paroled they serve 85% of their time. So even if he doesn't get paroled he shouldn't have to serve the entire 13 years.

If he is not eligible for good time, then I believe he is at the mercy of the parole board until the end of his sentence.. It sucks, trust me, I know!

He is definitely eligible for parole though after serving 1/3 of his sentence.

Yes, he was charged with a class A felony. I appreciate the feedback, we aren't going to get our hopes up, we pray he won't have to serve the entire time. I thought that the "1/3 amount of time served " to be considered for parole was only for those allowed "good time"...what exactly is good time?

1/3 of 13 years is 4.3 years, that is when he will be eligible for parole.

Good time is where the inmate gets days taken off the sentence (sort of like a day for day thing)

Yep, definitely eligible for parole consideration. My guy has never been eligible for good time due to the conviction and has been up for parole four times in 17 years.

I have a friend that has been incarerated for the 22 years. He was giving a 30 year sentence. He was eligible for parole in 1996 and has came up for parole 7 times since and where denied parole each time. All that I will say is do not lose hope because one day he will be home.
