Red face SA Pops trying to help SO Son get home

Hi all..

I'm John Pearson. I have a son in LV Hightower just finishing his FI-9R program. he's been granted parole, and on the waiting list for state approved housing. Looking for any leads & pointers for low cost housing or more formal programs in the San Antonio Area.

Following Joel Osteen & trying to stay positive.

Anybody know what the internal parole officers at the units do? Seems like he's not getting any help.

Regards & Blessings to all

JP

The Institutional Parole Officer is not tasked with doing anything in terms of securing post-release housing. They take the release plan given by the offender and place it into the computer, with the information later being farmed out to the appropriate District Parole Office for plan approval.

If he is waiting on a HWH placement, he will be waiting a while. The priority placements go to those that HAVE to be released (old-law mandatory supervision). Even discretionary mandatory supervision cases requiring HWH placement as an SO will take priority over a parole release.

Releases to a private residence that meets child safety zone requirements is ALWAYS going to be more expeditious than waiting for HWH bedspace to open up...

Unhappy Son out of TDCJ on parole last May - looking again for housing

Hi All

JP from San Antonio. My son got out last May on Parole into Work Release at Bexar County Jail in San Antonio. Things going well - had a job and a place to live at whispering oaks apts. Those just got shutdown by city for numerous code violations - SO...we're looking again. Any thoughts on SO available housing in SA

JP
