Hi Satia!

Welcome to the PTO Family!

I am happy for you just coming home!

I remember my first day home too, I remember how wonderful it was to be home for the first time in a few years and how scary it was too!

Be patient, stay strong you are going to be fine!

Patti

At Rochester, I was (according to staff) the only medical inmate in 20 years to ever get RDAP at Rochester. First, its important to know that Rochester discriminates HEAVILY against medical inmates (be prepared) if you go there and want RDAP. Second, I was a tire-less and rabid legal library guy that filed BPs until I won. I got my RDAP and secured a transfer to a camp, which I was told had never happened before, and they were not happy about it. (I was!) Having said that, I know alot about RDAP, alot, and I'd be glad to share my hard-won info with anybody that might need it.

The white collar crime that lead me to prison was semi-high profile in my state, but it was more of a one time thing, meaning, my "life of crime" is over, and I've moved on from that phase of my life. I learned alot in prison, good, bad, but most importantly, I learned a life lesson. You don't need to hit me over the head twice, I get it the first time. Its too bad I had to go to prison to learn these lessons, but I came out smarter and stronger, and a better person, so it wasn't without merit.
Sorrry....new to the system. What is RDAP?

Default Interstate Transfer from Michigan now in California

Hey,

I was incarcerated in Women's Huron Valley Prison in Michigan. The only one there for women now.
I did about 2 years total and was released in May of 2010. My agent in Michigan did my interstate transfer for me, and California approved it, even though it wasn't mandatory, so now I live in California (I lived here for about 10 years prior to the incarceration) and am on parole until November of 2011.

If anyone has any questions about the women's prison in Michigan, I'd be happy to help or if I can tell you anything about my Interstate Transfer experience, just let me know.

I was in OWCC then moved to CCCF in Oregon in 2000. It changed my life. Unfortunately regardless of the changes you make or the "REFORM" you learn the system never thinks you can "REFORM". Still haven't gone back to prison though. Only by the grace of God....

Did 20 years in several different GA prisons. GSP, Philips, Alto, Rogers, Coffee and CCI in S.C. Be glad to answer any questions about either state.

Hey, I live in Michigan. You wrote the only prison for women is the Huron Valley one. What happened to the Robert Scott prison for women? Was it converted to a mens prison or did it close?

I am Thomas McGee, K-29272. I have served 5 prison terms in California, and also 2 CYA terms as a juvenile (63864 and 67351). I have had the displeasure of being in the following facilities: Folsom State Prison (Old Folsom), San Quentin, Wasco, Tracy (DVI), Jamestown (SCC), CSP-Solano, CMF-Vacaville, CMC-East, Soledad... I think that is all of them. In CYA, I had served time at NRCC, Preston, O.H. Close, and Ventura. I have also spent a few months at the State Hospital in Napa. I have been on parole since '94. This last time, I was released on November 6 of last year. I am required to comlete 52 weeks Domestic Violence classes (costing me $1800!). I have 10 more to go before I am put up for an early discharge. This will be the first time since being a kid that the system will have no hold on me. Thank God!

I did ten years in NY state system for Crack Sales. During the ten years I became politically and socially aware. I found myself in and out of the Box. In ten years I was was transfered 11 times. My area of specialty is studies on OPPRESSION, American History as related to AFRICAN AMERICANS. My goal here is to bring awareness to POLITICAL PRISONERS IN AMERICA, as well as SYSTEMATIC ABUSES that all seem to have turned a blind eye on.
