Default Hello! New prison wife saying hello

My husband and I have been married for 3 years and have a 9 month old child together.

My husband is currently at Alhambra waiting to be assigned to a prison. His going back to prison was something we have been trying to do for nearly a year as probation had become impossible for us--from being told we can't live together, to not being allowed to see our son, and the list goes on. Prison was our only option, as sad as it sounds. He'll be able to see myself and our son more in prison than he was able to on the outside.

We're starting to settle into our new normal--whatever that ends up being

That is a very odd arrangement, but if it works for you guys congrats!

So when he completes his sentence, the situation will resolve and he can live with you guys???

Apply for visitation/phones as soon as he gets to his new home, some yards take 3 months to approve, some are really fast.

Does he have a prison inmate number yet?

Welcome to PTO. If this was a domestic issue, get into counseling now. He should also seek it while inside. It will hopefully be able to help you all become reunited when this is said and done.

Yes, prison is in lieu of his lifetime probation sentence. We figured a few years in prison was better than a lifetime of probation and being treated like dirt, being told what he can and cannot do, who he can live with, etc. Our son is young enough he won’t even remember dad was in prison.

Once he’s out of prison, he’s free. Forever.

I'm sorry, but at least you have the right attitude about it.

Lifetime probation? Are you sure he won't still have lifetime supervision after a few more years in prison? Is he on the registry?

Yes, I am absolutely positive he wonít have probation after prison. Parole? Yes. Probation? No. Itís spelled out in his court documents signed by the judge. We spent nearly $20k for the best lawyer to ensure we did this right. The state fought HARD in court against our petition to revoke probation because he will have a relatively short prison sentence. He will leave prison having his sentence of lifetime probation completed as time served in prison.

Yes, heís on the registry.

Update: found out from another prison wife that he was assigned to CACF. I actually got to talk to him this morning for 5 minutes. That made my heart happy. Visitation and phone call apps already submitted.
