Red face Address on a visitors list

Probably the wrong place to post this but i am rubbish for finding the right place so please forgive me!

My pp in TX is trying to get me added to his visitation list, so i sent my address the way i write it and the way he always writes to me. They keeping telling him my address is wrong when he submits the form. He has now told me to write it the way my address is on my passport.... im in the UK we don't have our address' on our passports. The main issue surrounds the State/Province bit, Whats the UK equivalent to that? I know i sound a little dull but hey there we are

Any help would be much appreciated thanks

When we do labels in my office, we put the UK "COUNTY" where the state should go.

Two recent examples:

Sandy, Bedfordshire (Sandy is entered in the "CITY" area and bedfordshire is entered in the "STATE" area)

Keston, London (Keston is entered in the "CITY" area and London is entered in the "STATE" area)

I hope that helps some!

Do you have some form of ID in the UK? If so use that and if not then the only thing I can suggest is make a copy of your passport and re-submit it.

lk I moved this so that it will be easier for the next person with this question to find. You didn't do a thing wrong but I won't remember where it is if I don't move it to the TX thread!

My suggestion is for you to call. Your info has to match your ID when you get to the prison. I would hate for you to have a nasty surprise upon arrival. Good luck and please update this so we'll have correct info.

I personally think they're being silly. It's not like you're the first person from the UK that they've ever had to ad to the visitation system.

I agree with RainyCola - they are being silly. I have been getting in there for years with a German passport, but the last time the officer at the entrance told me I would have to provide a Texas driver's license for identification because her system - all out of the sudden - said so.
Every system is just as smart as its operator...

maria, that's crazy!

i swear, sometimes i think they just pick and choose who they want to pick on. my address on my license doesn't even match the address they have in the computer system, so for my first visit they told me to bring in a copy of a utility bill to prove that i live at the address they have for me. they checked it and let me through with no problem. without fail, every single time i would go i would bring along a copy of a utility bill but they would never check it after that first time. the last time i went i didn't even bother bringing it since i'd just end up tossing it in the trash before i went in and wouldn't you know - the person doing the check in told me i couldn't go in because my address didn't match. luckily i had my passport with me for some reason. when i went back in with it she told me i couldn't use my passport because i am an american citizen. i gave her a quizzical look and one of the other people working in there asked her, "well, is it valid?" she looked at it and said it was. then that person said, "then it's a valid, government-issued form of identification. use that."

i quit trying to understand the logic some of them use and decided it's much easier to just smile and act like i know what's going on.
