Question Parole after First degree murder

I'm trying to find out if anyone has any stories of going up for parole with a 1st degree murder charge.
Sentence was 35 years with 70% mandatory. 18 at the time of charge and maintains his innocence. Now here we are at age 41 and going up for parole 7/2020. With discretionary parole I know we are in for a battle, but I will be writing support letters. Looking for advice and stories.
Thanks in advance,
Yo

They won’t be all that keen to grant it if he is maintaining his innocence. They are not interested in relitigating the case - that is settled. They are interested in what he has done to rehabilitate himself.

Typically in Arkansas if the victim’s family opposes parole and makes a statement to the Board they will deny parole. The Prosecutor and Sheriff will also be contacted and typically they always oppose parole. Yourself is correct they want to know what he has done to better himself and why he is a changed person. Good luck.
