Yes, as long as it fits in the visiting guidelines. Nothing see thru, metal, etc.

I am filling out a marriage packet and I'm wondering if his parent's place of birth is absolutely required on the form? He grew up with foster parents and does not know much about them, let alone the fact that they've completely lost touch. Please let me know as I would hate to get rejected based on this small detail.

I believe so. But every case is different. You should contact the marriage coordinator and explain everything to her. I was married on 3-23-2013. The whole marriage process took about 1 month from turning in the packet to signing our marriage papers. I did call every few days to keep on top of it or they will take their sweet time there. Another couple waited six months to get married !! So keep calling and checking the status of your packet!

Donovan doesn't have a marraige coordinator, the visiting LT handles this. You can try calling visiting at ext. 6675 or 6676.

They are helpful, she was able to answer my questions, every case is different. In my case they returned it back but I never got it but that wasn't their fault so I just have to start over.

I got approved today!! and got a list of notaries!
I have a few questions:
Can we choose any notary, even if it's not on the list?
Do they all charge the same? If not, which one may be the cheapest? Also, which do you recommend?

thanks in advance!!

From what I have heard you can only choose from the ones on the list since they are approved.

Hi!

Me and my husband are going through the same process. He has to ask for a packet from his counselor and you have to mail a certified marriage license and certificate to his counselor. The process can take quite some time. It's been almost 2 months and were still in the beginning phase.

Yes! I recommend you always call up and check on it! Or else they seem to get off track and not do their job! I had to call numerous times to get them to complete it!

when do they need the marriage certificate? Before he sends in the packet with the dates?

Also, does anyone know if you can pick up the license at a local city hall?

Thanks in advance

Does anyone have the number for the head chaplain at Donovans? I need to talk to him about what alternatives we have if we want a ceremony for our faith. Thanks :-)
