Smile Greeting Cards for Inmates (Loved Ones)

I thought everyone might find this site interesting. They sell greeting cards specifically for prisoners. You can buy them online and pay through Paypal.

These are kind of cool. It makes me want to start a website for my Graffiti Greeting Cards as well. I think I am going to order some, just because.

You can always search the internet and come up with TONS of them, but I was having problems remembering which ones I had sent him. To fix this I went down to the store and bought some different word game books and along with my letters I rip out a few pages of puzzles and send them to him. The other advantage to this is that you can also send him the answers so if he has problems with them he can figure them out. My boyfriend loves it!

This is one my husband loves. You can choose to print the puzzles large so they have room to try different numbers if they need to.

Any of the various "Create a Card" programs will print out lovely cards on any inkjet printer--they can be personalized and the text custom-written to your heart's delight. Some even allow you to plug in a photo. They come with a huge number of cards and other items for every imaginable occasion, and if by some chance you use up everything that comes with the software, you can order additional bundles of card designs, etc., online at rather reasonable prices.

DON'T buy the packages of 10 sheets of paper and envelopes you will see at K-Mart, etc. often for close to a dollar per sheet of paper. I bought 250 sheets of greeting paper from an eBay seller for less than $10, and a box of greeting card sized (8.5x5.5" envelopes at Wal-Mart for $2.97. Cost per card (less ink) runs less than 10 cents.

If you have a dollar store in the neighborhood--check out whatever they have in whatever passes for a stationery department. More than once I have struck packages of card paper with envelopes (on one occasion with the software disk included), kits for making t-shirt transfers, refrigerator magnets, stickers....you name it! And the price is right....mind, if you find this sort of thing in stock, buy as much as you can afford or carry, as it probably won't be there next time.

I make my own cards as well. Avery has a free downloadable program that will work with any brand cards as long as they are the same size.

I print photos on 8-1/2 x 11 inch plain paper and use that for writing paper. If the photo is dark, I write on the back side.
