Default Inmates at Kentucky prison with 31 COVID infections say it’s ‘like a death

State inmates at the Green River Correctional Complex in Muhlenberg County say they’ve been forgotten as the novel coronavirus has ripped through their prison over the past two weeks, sickening at least 18 inmates and 13 staff members.

Many inmates and even some corrections officers continue to walk around the 982-bed prison without protective masks or gloves, although the virus was first detected there in late March after two employees tested positive, according to interviews on Wednesday with a Green River inmate and several friends and family of inmates who try to communicate daily with their loved ones.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — David Hager says he is dying.

He can’t eat, keeps throwing up and has lost his sense of smell and taste, says his mother, Brenda Trimble, who calls the 33-year-old “Bubby.”

In an electronic message from Green River Correctional Complex, the prison 125 miles southwest of Louisville, Hager said that when he told medical staff he couldn’t breathe, he was placed in isolation — “thrown in the hole.”

Now Hager, who is serving 10 years for robbery but is eligible for parole next year, is back in his cell, his mother says, with a bunkie who is so sick he can’t hold his head up.

...inmates are released from their dorms in limited numbers — 64 at a time —
...how many showers and phones are available for those 64 at a time inmates?

...inmates who test positive are now kept in their dorm in with their cellmate who already has been exposed.
Seems to me that the "already exposed" inmate would have a less chance of getting Covid if the time exposed was less.

The whole article rips my heart out
