Ugh! This place is all around STUPID! My husband wants me to look into family visits here and I'm already dreading the process. It's been smooth at his other facilities....

Anyhow, has anyone heard of family visits being extended to 4 days? My husband said that one of the guys in this unit just had a family visit. He left Friday and came back Monday morning? I highly doubt they would be so gracious, but who knows....

Hello everyone. I need some advice on what to do in regards to getting our fv scheduled. We were approved @2 months ago and have heard nothing since. I have tried calling his counselor and the fv director, but no one ever answers the phone. It just rings and rings and they don’t have voicemail. What should I do? What do I need to do to follow up on getting our fv scheduled? Thank you, ladies.

Maybe you could try the Visiting Sergeant if nobody else is answering: (CCI) - (661) 822-4402 ext. 3155

Also, if you were approved would you have someone's name (maybe from paperwork etc) so that you could send them an e-mail? CDCR e-mails are in the format of firstname.lastname@cdcr.ca.gov

Good luck!

It depends on what you mean by approved. Did your husband go to his annual and his counselor said he's approved. If so he still has to fill out the forms, get them signed off by the CC1, CC2 and yard captain before the even get to the FV Coordinator. If he already sent in the application to his counselor then his counselor needs to update him. The FV coordinator is really good about scheduling and sending out confirmation but he always says until he receives the approval from the yard he doesn't know where it's at in the process. Hope that helps. It took us a long time to get our date because it had to go through so many people.

I would guess yes, if the inmate qualifies.

do they want you to resubmit the application?
If that is the case I'd go ahead and do that. Use your legal name and the one you have id for.

If your husband submitted for family visit the name he put on the application needs to match the name you use to visit and your ID. So if it's still your maiden name you should also fill out an updated visitor form up front. The visiting Sgt. can't help with this if it is for family visit, your husband needs to go to his counselor. Family visits at CCI need to be approved by the CC1, CC2 and yard captain and then they go to the family visit coordinator up front. I would start by making sure your info is updated in regular visiting, then make sure when your husband submits for FV again that he uses whatever name they have in visiting that matches your ID. Hope that helps.

Strange; I merged your questions from another thread to this thread so that this issue can be found & replied to in one place (although maybe this would be better located in the CCI forums?)

Ha! OK, I've merged all of this back into the CCI Family Visiting forum. I think we've got it now!
Bottom line: AshB has the best advice. I'd bet my visit on it. Good luck.

I have some questions about FV at CCI. My husband just got approved. His counselor signed off on it and sent it to the captain. After captain signs it, does it go to my husband or FV coordinator ? How long you think it will take to get a date? What can I bring ? Flat iron? Makeup , Blanket etc?? This might be TMI, but lube ? I need to know? Tampons ? Just in case that runs of months happens during visit? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you in advance

Thank you. I saw that. I was just hoping one of the ladies from
CCI, who recently had visits responded. I wanted to know from them personally how did it go? What items can you take and what kind of bag do you put your stuff in

Lube, yes.
Cosmetics, 5 only (dont have to be unopened but not glass or mirrors.
Tampons, yes,
Flatirons, no.
Blanket, single layer only.
After captain signs off it goes to family visit coordinator....f.v. dates are scheduling into June already for new family visitors.

Any other ? Let me know....

Thanks. This helps a lot & gives me a bit of insight. Why no mirrors? My compact has a morrión, so I’ll jabe to figure something out soon. Can you take slippers? Does Shampoo & condtioner have to be in a clear container or just unopened ? What about gel or mousse for the hair since flatirons are not allowed.
I wonder how long it from the captains desk to be sent to the FV coordinator ?
June?? Wtf!!! That’s too far away.
