Default RDAP Rules/questions

I have read the offical rules for RDAP and they are pretty general. Im trying to find out if my hubby can get into the RDAP program even thought he is not in for a drug offense. Its in his PSR that he has a history of drug abuse. I know this is the only progam that takes time off so we are hoping to get him into it. He SS next week and trying to find info before he goes. Thanks!

It's good that he has his drug abuse history in his PSR. It doesn't need to be a drug related crime for him to get into RDAP and he has a documented history so your chances are good. Does he have a gun charge? That wouldn't stop him from getting in the program but would stop him from getting any time off.

My boyfriend got a gun charge. At sentencing yesterday the judge recommended the RDAP program due to history of drinking.

it is my understanding that he wont receive the year off b/c of the gun. that is this situation were in right now. my baby will start the program soon but will not get the yr off b/c of the gun that was found. even though he was not charged with a gun. but he said that he is going to fight for it. i said do you ever get tired of fighting lol

depends when the drug or alchol abuse took place if it was over a year they will probably turn him down then he should turn in a cop out and fight it . he needs to get his doctor on the to verify his addiction. if he had a DUI that might help good luck john
