I have a question. Could someone tell me what is the best route to take to help someone get out of diagnostics? He's been there a month after his tests are completed and we're not going to be able to hug until he gets somewhere, hopefully the northern part of Georgia. He says call the three selections we thought of and ask them about requesting he be transferred there but I'm thinking it's the DOC that decides so I don't know what to do but maybe I should do both?

Anybody know about this, how to help someone get transferred in Georgia?

As far as I know, there isn't much you can do to speed them along. If he has completed all the steps at Diagnostics, chances are they are waiting for a bed for him at another facility. As far as getting him close to you, the DOC decides where he goes. My husband has always been at least an hour and half away from me every time he has been in the DOC. If you find out how to get your loved one closer, let us know, that would be valuable information.
Good luck

I agree with gagirl on them waiting for a bed.As far as getting closer to home.first is there a prison closer to you then one and a half hrs?? Second if he has been where he is now for a year and NO DR's he can put in to be placed closer to home.thats what we did and it worked he is a hr from home and yes that was the closest to home.
