Default Monthly PO Fees?

What does your PO charge for an office visit fee? Here it's $35 a month. Two years ago, when I violated, it was $25 a month. They don't charge any extra for a drug test unless it's hot then it's $10. I was wanting to know if the rates are different in other states.

As far as I know there is no office visit or drug test fee in California, here they are just happy to do it free and violate you first chance they get.

I have a problem with PO fees. How is a person supposed to pay PO fees when they don't have a job and it's so hard for a felon to get one? Out here a person can get violated for not paying-----so what do they expect a person to do? You can't get a job, you can't pay the fee, you don't want to go back------you steal something to pay, right? Not everyone who comes out has a family member to pay for them, and it's just a set-up to fail parole in my opinion.

As far as I know there are NO parole fees in IL... (my best friend stayed with me while he was on parole...) Probation fees are something like $20 a month in this county (from what I know....) But there are no extra costs for drug testing... dirty or not....

$25/month in PA. If you accumulate too much debt, this can be considered a parole violation.

It varies by county here in Texas. I was paying $40.00 a month to Brazos County for Probation Supervision Fees. Talk about a crock of.. (You know what)

I'm glad to pay the fees if it keeps Wayne home with me.

Also, if he doesn't pay then he pays - by going back to prison. What irks me is that he had to take off early one day a month from his job when he was on parole before. Thank goodness he had an understanding employer!

Here in Minnesota the fees are 112.00 a year. They do not have to be paid every month, just by the end of the year. So that figures to 10.00 a month.

I had no idea that there were parole/probation fees. I thought PO salaries were paid with tax dollars? That is just insane, considering a lot of felons have a hard time finding work, and come from poor families (if they even have families). Talk about creating an incentive to commit crime!
Does anyone know what the feds charge?

Here in SC, Jerry was supposed to pay $20 per week for the first 90 days, yeah right. At least when he gets out this time, there will be no probation.

In Arizona the probation fee is $50 a month. I start paying in November along with restitution. And I asked my PO what happens if I lose my job and have to take a lesser paying one. He said don't lose your job. The fees don't change. They don't care. Just another way to show they have power.

I think that the only way - here in Mississippi - one can get a fee waiver is if they are drawing disability or are terminally ill. Otherwise it's pay or go back to prison.

They've since raised the fees to $40 a month. By the time Wayne gets off of parole, they'll be up to a hundred bucks a month!
