How to do an international call collect

I have not tried this myself yet but decided to look for a way to try and have my loved one try to contact me via a call collect method. Ofcourse you would have to have a landline in place as i don't think that cell phones are allowed due to the increased costs. The other issue i am not fully aware with is if inmates are allowed to use a call collect service so i guess if anyone is wishing to go this route then a call to the inmate facility is probably a good idea to establish whether this serive is of any good use or not. (hope this helps anyone internationally who needs it)

How do I call collect internationally?

It is possible to place a collect call internationally from the US, but be aware that most businesses/people will not accept them due to the substantially high rates.

Get the complete dialing instructions prior to calling by using our calling codes search.
Dial 0170 from your phone and wait for the international operator.
Give the international operator the name, country, and complete number of the person that you want to call.
Be aware that most phone providers do not allow collect calls to mobile phones, so make sure that you are calling a land line.
