Default Feeling very guilty :( too nervous to visit my friend and he would like a visit

I feeling very guilty and sad today. I know that my friend doesnt get any visitors but I just cant do it, the visit are always at the times Iam at work or some other life situation!.. Im also very very nervous to go, like anexity attack! I havent seen him in 3 years pior to all this and the last thing I want to do is see him like that. Also the phone calls, I would love to talk to him but I cant afford collect calls, Im a single mom of 3 budgeted to the Max. How do you tell someone that letters will have to be enough without breaking their heart
