Default VPASS, How is it working for you?

I'm just curious as to how everyone else is doing with this new system. I do not like it one bit, I have not been able to make an appointment for three weeks now.

Hi, wow, I just got approved for the first time. I tried to make and appt. for a week from now and couldn't but I got one for this Saturday. Maybe they open up cancellations? Or it's just too busy closer to the holidays.

There was a great deal of advocacy carried out by the Inmate Family Council-Solano and other concerned loved ones of inmates who volunteered to get involved. If they hadn't done this, I don't know if these additional appointments would be available through V-PASS.

VPASS has its issues. IFC has been working hard to get things straightened out and I think they must have reached a compromise and opened up more appointments. There are a lot of us that visit at Solano and opening more appointments will help. Intially there were more appointments available through VPASS. The officers that work in visiting complained about that because there were too many people to process in a time slot. Hopefully the additional time slots will improve things for us all. We shouldn't have to worry about whether we will get to see our loved ones. Personally I am thankful we have a very dedicated IFC

Also everybody especially new people Solano IFC has a web site. I don't have the link but you can google it. You can sign up to get email updates and I have found this to be one of the best ways to get information about what is going on.

I watched the video from beginning to end. I have been also trying to get an appt for several weeks with no success. No matter what time I select I get the message that there are no avail appts for that time slot. And it only allows me to attempt to make an appt for one week in advance and not two. Am I doing something wrong?? I signed on at 8 pm and still cannot get thru. I would appreciate any suggestions and informatio to help me. I really need to see my husband. He ain't a happy camper and neither am I.

VPASS has its issues. They have changed then process for walkins at Solano. You can come on grounds at 939am and get a pass and they will process as time is available.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my posting -- I really do appreciate your comments. I have never done a walk in. I have always made an appt to visit. However this time if I cannot make an appt I will have no choice but to do a walk in.

It seems that if you are not sitting at your computer at exactly 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday, you are out of luck. I have talked to people who actually WERE at their computers at that time and who could not get an appt. Yet, there are quite a few walk-ins when I arrive for an actual appointment. What's up with that?

Walkins are now allowed on grounds at 930am. They are given a pass at the gate and will be processed in between appointment times after 10am. So when all the appointments for 10am are processed they will process walkins until it is time to process 1030am and so on. VPASS kind of has a mind of its own bit it is getting better. For it to work you do have to pounce on it at 8pm.
