Default Does Bent County have the tablets?

I just found out that's where M got sent. It's literally in the middle of nowhere. I'm devastated- I was hoping to be able to stay with his mom and go to visit, but it's two hours and fifteen minutes each way from her house and she has a disabled daughter that can't be alone that long. And if she did go she would stay the entirety of our visit, giving M and I no privacy at all. And then she'd only go one day. (I'm disabled and can't drive... in fact it would be a struggle to even get a plane ticket.)

Does anyone know if Bent County Correctional has the tablets? I really hope so. At least that way we could keep more frequent communication.

I haven't seen M since August and I was hoping to get to visit him this summer. But instead it's looking like I won't be able to see him again until at least a year from now...

I'm pretty sure all Colorado state prisons have the tablets. When you sign up for a ConnectNetwork account and add a facility, for the state of Colorado you just add Colorado Department of Corrections. My boyfriend is in Arkansas Valley so I'd offer to get you that far when I'm visiting but it's another 55 minutes further east to Bent :-( My next trip is in 3 weeks time and I'm staying in Colorado Springs just for a change. Stupid question but I don't suppose there's public transport between small towns?

I doubt it.

Yeah, I already have a connectnetwork account. Been doing this thing since 2010. Visiting when I could since 2016. He got revoked from community corrections basically due to anxiety issues and ADD causing him to miss assignments. He can theoretically reapply in 3 months. But after that it could be a further six months from getting into a halfway house before I could be approved to visit. I live in California. We married on May 27 last year in prison. I just wanted to try to see him before he got into a halfway house again. :-(

I've just read some old threads where you tell your story. I'm so sorry for everything you've been through. I can't imagine the turmoil and ups and downs you've been through. I hope you can arrange something to be able to visit. I know there's a bus from Denver that brings visitors to Arkansas Valley every second Saturday. It's a religious group that organisers it but maybe there's something similar for Bent County?

The bus transporation is through Doing HIS Time Ministry. Here is the link to the Barnabus schedule:

https://www.doinghistime.org/barn-a-bus-colorado/

They serve Bent County but only when there is a 5th Saturday in the month. It is a great organization and they help a lot of folks that can't drive.

Thanks for the link, Denver is way out of the way for me. It takes as long to get to Denver from his mom's house as it does to the prison.

My mother is retiring in mid-August and we're talking about a road trip. She has a Prius and it will cost about $250 for gas round trip. She wants me to get my permit though.
