Default Distance from Phoenix to Yuma

Hi! Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Downtown Phx to Yuma? I keep hearing anywhere from 2 - 4 hours, but that's a big difference. LOL

I'm in central Phoenix, and when I was heading to Yuma each weekend, I would leave my house by 4:30 and arrive to the gate, before it opened....sit in that outside line for a few minutes and be let in at 7:45. It's a really pretty drive, especially early in the morning.

I would calculate my drive as...an hour to Lewis (before 5:30), another 25-30 min to Gila Bend (before 6:00am), and I was over half way there. I would reach that last mountain range, before Yuma before 7:00 and take the exit, heading south, by 7:15. 20 min later I would be a the prison.

Thank you VERY much! This helps.

Any details I should know about visitation check-in, the actual visitation, what to bring, etc.? I'm going on Saturday. YAY!
