Question Can someone clarify for me?

I heard that if you owe court fines, your visitation request will be denied until you pay off all the $$ you owe to any courts before you will be approved to visit ur loved one.

Can anyone clarify for me whether this is true or just a rumor?

What about if you are on a payment plan in another state && never missed payments ? They shouldn't count that, right?

Your best bet would be to call the Visiting Lt where your loved one is and ask. That way you will know for sure.

If you owe court fines that are in collections, then you will be denied at first. what you will have to do is contact the collections agency, set up a payment plan, and then have the collection agency send you paperwork of your agreement. Make your first payment and make a copy of the paperwork you have to send to the visiting room along with your denial letter. What they want to see is that you're making an attempt to pay your fines.

Now if you just have fines and you're making payments, then you have nothing to worry about. You're not in collections, and you don't owe the state.
