Finally got through to visiting this morning, although they were not very much help, they did tell me they are working on the first week of march now so that means I am close. I mailed my app on march 6.

Unhappy Being denied to visit my fiance in prison....

So i sent in the application to Wasco that he had mailed me, and i am really worried they wont approve it because i have a hold on my license...and i just found out that June 15th my license will be suspended..but its a HUGE fiasco and im going on my next day off to the court house to fight it because its so stupid...BUT my main concern is having my visiting application denied /: i heard that having either a hold or suspended license will get you denied... ):

yes... if your license is suspended they will deny you in Wasco. But when did you mail your form? You might have time. They are working right now on forms received the 2nd and 3rd weeks of March. So if you mailed the form in April or May you should be good as long as you put everything down on the form and you take care of court.

Wasco loves to deny and not tell you. My husband was there and denied me (never got the letter). When he got to his prison, I had to resend the form and was approved within a month. It took 6 months for the drama to be over and to see him.

I've never had any kind of criminal history, I did have a CPS case about 7 years ago that was of course closed, no charges given, is that going to get me denied ? I just don't know what they check on a person. Thank you

No, that won't matter at all. The form is very self explanatory just make sure you list anything you have ever been arrested or detained for. Even if the detention did not lead to an arrest list it. As long as you are completely honest and you are not on parole or probation and you don't have any warrants or outstanding unpaid tickets you should be good to go the first time u send it in

I had my first visit this past Sunday. I'm happy to say I processed in with no problem and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

I only know about reception visiting... I think you are probably asking about visiting mainline, so I don't know how the actual visits are once you get in the visiting room but I can tell you about processing. I've gone twice, both times the guards were polite and helpful. They don't allow sweats at all, and no solid white, orange or gray tops. Even if the top has a logo on it, if the majority of it is one of those colors you will have to change. Your shoes have to have a back strap, and of course all the other standard rules apply. My first time I wore a maxi skirt and a black top, and my second time I wore black pants (the kinda baggy ones that are in style right now) and a top with flowers on it and both times I got in perfectly fine. When u get there u sign in at the desk and drop the slip and your id
In the basket and they call you when it's your turn to be processed. They are pretty fast

What number did you call to find this out? Whenever I called, I just got a generic response - "the inmate will let you know when approved". Thanks so much!

They won't tell you. If you reread her post they told her they were working on it and her man got the approval letter after and let her know. Wasco is strict about telling you for some reason.

You send it back in a letter to him. They won't accept it if it's not signed though

Will they give it to him to sign or will they be jerks and just toss it?

Wasco takes 8 weeks not including weekends or holidays to approve a visiting application... This averages to around 90 days. To figure out when your app might be approved you need to know what date it was received at the facility. From that date count 56 business days. Sometimes it even takes longer than that.

I'm going slightly crazy. I hope everyone else here is doing well. My boyfriend has been there since April 1st. I sent in my visitor form on April 7th, and Wasco confirmed they received it April 11th.

He saw his counselor on June 2nd, and he just got his transfer this week on July 16th. He's actually going to be staying there and transferring to a level one yard. They're also going to be giving him surgery for his hernia, which I suppose is good news, even though it freaks me out.

They still haven't given him word on the status of my application. I called them last week and they said they should be getting to it now. I'm flying out to California from Miami the end of this month. Is there any way he can ask for a status update without getting in trouble? I really want to go see him, but I know I can't without the approval first. I just don't know what else to do to try to figure it out. It HAS to be looked at by now. It's been 72 business days!

Also, I know this has been talked about over and over, but if someone could give me examples of what they wear for visits, I'd really appreciate it. How strict are they about it there? I know every place is different.

Thank you so much! I hope everyone had a good weekend.

My hubby got there may 29th and every time I would call to see if they got my visiting form they would say they can't tell me. He said he asked and they told him it will get there when it gets there he said he got mad and just walked away. Just getting word he saw his counselor and is either going to Donovan or Arizona. So I'm at the point of oh well not going to sweat it. I'll wait for my contact visit when he is mainlined.

I finally got my approval letter! It came just in time. Today is Monday, and I leave Miami for California this Thursday. I am SO excited, I can't even sit still! I'm terrified about what to wear, but I'll just bring a suitcase full of outfits and try to look modest. Modest in Miami is entirely different than modest in California, so wish me luck.

Wasco received my form on April 11th and the letter says it was approved on July 15th. As of the 20th, he still hadn't been given the approval. I'm not sure when he finally received it, but he sent it to me in Florida, and today is the 28th. I hope that helps if anyone is trying to nail down timing.

I bought a pair of flowy white pants without metal and some sort of but not really cute tops with three-quarter sleeves to go over them. They're not too tight, but it's impossible to find a shirt that doesn't conform at least a little bit to my body. I'm going to buy a few more pairs of pants like that, because they seriously can't tell me they're too tight.

If anyone has any last-minute words of advice, let me know. I'm so happy and so nervous.

You should be fine.... remember no solid white tops.... and your shoes have to have a back strap, and no underwire in your bra...
