Question Early Release Under HYTA at Thumb??

Hey everyone.
I am new to this. My boyfriend is currently locked up in TCF. He has been locked up since June of 2015. He did 6 months in county and has been at thumb since November 2015. He got sentenced to 2 1/2 years under the HYTA program. My first question is, do they count his 6 months of county towards his prison sentence? Is there any chance for early release? Possibly soon? He wrote his judge a letter and explained everything that hes been doing while locked up.. (hes ticket free, hasn't gotten into any trouble, is taking all sorts of classes and courses, has a job in there) the judge wrote him back and pretty much just told him to stay optimistic and to keep up the good work. I heard that they are letting people out left and right because the prison is so over populated. Let me know what you guys know!!

I'm not positive with HYTA, but with others, county time does count, as long as it is for this occurance.

Then "most" situations, his time would start the day he was picked up, or shortly after. Naturally, I can't promise, and each situation is different, as long as he's keeping busy working, classes and being productive, that's great. Michigan doesn't have any "good time" credit though.

The judge has to give him credit for the time he served in county. It should be on his sentencing paperwork.
