Default Help! How do I comfort/help him through the loss of a loved ones?

My fiance is in the FCI med. in Manchester ky. And this morning he called and told me he just lost his aunt (whom he called mom) and his little cousin in a tragic accident. He was VERY close to them. When we first met they were who he talked about the most. He kept stating "every time I feel like im at a good place or things are looking up for me, I always get hit with bs. Why does this always happen to me?"
How do I comfort him from so far away? My heart is breaking for him.. But how can I help him? What do I do??? Please help.. Any advice would be much appreciated y'all.

P.s. I wasnt sure where to post this, sorry if its in the wrong place.

I know it can be hard to get their mind off of something like that especially when it's still fresh. I would try to talk about something else and cheer him up. I know when my boyfriend is down, that's what I do and he thanks me for being able to get his mind off of something he's been in depression over. I would also let him know that you're here for him. Also, do not talk about the death, try to steer away from it because while he's in there, you don't want him to continue to think about it and stress over it. He's stressing enough being in there. Hope that helps in some way. Good luck and sorry to hear about his loss!

Ask him to share their stories with you. Surely many are funny, and he can fish around in his memories to find them.
