"TFW you pray the rosary and mix up the Nicene and Apostles creed, so you end with "Lord, you know what I meant." "

Ha! I'm not Catholic but still get a lot of the references. This one reminded me of two different times in prayer with my husband during a visit. Once, he got a little dry and went off into the Lord's Prayer, I started laughing and so did he. Reminded me of a sitcom scene where I non-Christian tries to impress someone by leading prayer but has no clue where to start. Last visit I was just dead. Tired, physically unwell. I had put-off leading our prayers for a while so it wasn't a card I could play again. You know you're rambling and praying in circles when your husband cuts you off and says, "Aaaand, Amen."

I'm not Catholic or even Christian but I do the web design and upkeep for my mom's church and I'm often there for photos and such...this was hilarious! Thanks for sharing!

I attended Catholic school and we had all the prayers everyday. I memorized them so they were automatic responses. But to this day, anytime I hear or read the phrase "May the force be with you"(from Star Wars) that little voice in my brain responds " And also with you" ( which is exactly what i was taught in Catholic school, lol).

Also, I saw the most amazing Lenten sight a few years ago, a Catholic church had a DRIVE THRU ASH SERVICE for Ash Wednesday. I kid you not. i should have taken a pic.Just drive up, get your ashes put on your forehead without ever leaving your car. Just wow, lol.

Another funny story but . My SIL came into town (New Orleans) to see her devoutly Catholic Italian mama. She got up early and made grits, oatmeal, etc for the family. It tasted just a bit odd. We thought maybe it was the tap water that had a funny taste. Nope.

Besides, she said she used the bottled water to make the grits and eggs. My MIL was puzzled as she doesn't buy or use bottled water. So she had her daughter show her the water. It was actually a gallon of Holy Water that MIL had gotten from a pilgrimage, used to bless people and such. We all joked we ought to be good and blessed from the inside out and should be pretty invincible for at least a few days, lol.

The one that got me was genuflecting going into a movie seat. OMG.

Karma.......I ALWAYS think that too about star wars May the force be with you.

We were raised Catholic but I stopped going to church a long time ago.
I dont even go on Christmas or Easter either. (the church would probably burn up! or I'd be struck by lighting or something)

I DO try to do some of the stuff, like not eating meat during lent. One of my besties from work isnt there anymore to remind me not to. (retiring)

I remember my mom being super excited when the church decided to do the mass in English rather than Latin. I was sorta bummed out. I liked hearing it in latin even tho I had no idea what they were saying.

And then there is the memory of my friend down the street from my house. Her dad was raised Catholic too. He used to crack me up.
He'd do a sing song voice (sorta like Latin mass)
And say
Domino Hybiscus Umpapa and poopie doo......

(for those familiar with Latin Mass, you will get this)
