Default Isolation

There’s always a reason, but we have no way of knowing what it is. Is he avoiding telling you?

My best guess is, if he’s in TDC andif he’s been in since he got there, gang involvement.

If he’s in county it kinda depends on the jail. I know when my husband was in jail he was alone in a cell because he was rated a more “dangerous” inmate.

It would help to know whether we are talking about housing in jail or within TDCJ facilities. Other factors are age and the notoriety of the case. Young kids with a profile case are often going to be removed from the general population for their own safety. Where possible, bond should be posted because there are far more benefits to be derived from being OUT of custody pending disposition than IN custody.

If this is single-celling within TDCJ, then yeah, he likely is gang affiliated...

He's in the county jail. No gang affiliation. 1st time offender. However, it is a very serious charge. CM

County jail inmates with serious offenses are almost always housed separately from others. In our county jail is called "keep separate." There is an entire section of the jail for these charges. In our county jail I'm not sure I would call it isolation though...as that makes folks feel it's like the hole in the olden days. My Husband has access to the dayroom for an hour a day, visits, the phone and was still able to communicate down the run with others on his run.

They did it to my boyfriend in his 20s trying to get him to sign a plea bargain which he refused.
