Default Medical at Maricopa County Jail

So I finally heard from Mr. B... Long story short... He has had major surgery and is only being given tylenol. Does anyone know if they ever give the guys anything stronger than that? When I talked to him the other day he said his pain was 7/10.

I don't know about Maricopa county. In Pinal they give ibuprofen. It would seem that he should have been released with some sort of pain meds? Are they failing to give him the prescription?

He said just tylenol. The nurse told him he would have to see the Dr for anything else, so if he was released with pain meds, he's not getting them.

He's in the infirmity... They don't have him in GP.

Hmmmm then maybe putting in kites or inmate letters to medical to see the dr. I'm not sure how it works in county jail.

I don’t think they do but that’s just a guess - I know when my guy had 3 wisdom teeth surgically removed and two had caused a major infection that they took a super long time to treat I had to raise hell for them to do it - his whole face was swollen before and couldn’t open his mouth nothing but ibuprofen and even after cutting them out and the infection parts they still only gave him that...

I finally got through his head that he's only going to get Tylenol. Now he wants me to get him out of the infirmary. You'd think we weren't separated.

I know with the surgeries my husband hand he went back to prison and all they gave him was over the counter Ibuprophen. He couldn't even call to see if we could do anything because at the time they had no phones in the infirmary!!!

All he's going to get is tylenol, whether he likes it or not. I'm not overly sympathetic... He had a series of very poor choices which led to the situation he's in.

I totally get your feeling that way but I didn't feel like that and I had the same kind of surgery my husband had and I had heavy duty narcotics and still was in agony, so I was a bit more sympathetic to his pain.

I know I sound cold... I'm just not sure if he's actually in as much pain as he says... Or if he's wanting drugs... Or if he's trying to manipulate me into forgetting that he left me for a drug addicted whore...who is the reason he's in the mess he's in. I just don't know. I do know that per policy, they only give tylenol.

Oh you don't sound cold you sound like you have been a hell of a decent person in my opinion he's lucky you even are talking to him, that aside he is probably in a lot of pain. But he chose his path and he has to deal with the consequences of his actions, being in jail and no pain meds shitty health care and basically a ruined life. Nothing you can do for him and he knows this he's probably trying to gain your sympathy. He can order ibuprophen from commissary.
