Question indited info

Ok, I am an air head haha. Can someone explain to me what indited means? Are you indited then they put a warrant out for your arrest or do you have court, then your indited? Does a person know right away if the law plans to indite you? What does it really mean, indite? Thank you in advance!

An indictment is issued by a grand jury if probable cause is found that an offense has occurred and the defendant might have done it. If a grand jury is not needed/required, the prosecution issues an "information", which contains the formal criminal charge. Usually, a person is arrested first, before the case is brought before the grand jury, but sometimes not. In any event, a warrant can issue after an indictment.

Is indited and indicted the same thing? From my understanding, if a person is indited, they will then persue to have a warrant put out even though there has not been any kind of arrest, just hear say? Just confused!! LOL

Yes, it is the same thing. The "c" is silent, but it is spelled indicted. Depending on the information presented to the grand jury, they will decide whether to issue an indictment.
