Default What is the difference in CFRC Main and CFRC East?

My bf was transferred from Main to East...does that mean that is his permanent location. And if I mailed him a letter to main today will he get it at East? Whats the difference? Address is the same just not main...its east.

Maybe he's permanent there or just b/c main is overcrowded, he should still get his mail, they forward it up to 30 days and since it's the same address anyway...Main is a reception center although some stay there too. One thing you will learn, with DOC you never know but do call his CO may be he will tell you if it's his home prison or just a stop over.

I did see on the DOC site that current custody is pending... so I guess that means its not permanent. You said call his CO, how do I go about doing that? And does the CO give out info to anyone or only family?

call the main number and ask to speak to his co, you just need to give them his DOC number, I'm not sure if they will talk to someone besides family, someone here may know better. Are you close to his family, maybe one of them could call if they won't talk to you.

Since you said his custody level is still pending, then you are probably correct in that he's not permanent. CO's will usually give out info to anyone, but you might want to just wait since he's not been classified yet. Chances are he's going to be moving soon. His mail will follow him, though, regardless of where he goes for 30 days.
