Default Any alternative to Willard?

Hi folks:

My boyfriend was just sentenced to 1 year for a parole violation, but has the option to INSTEAD complete a 90 day drug program, which of course he'll be doing! He was just transferred from Ulster to Downstate, and I assume he'll be moving to the rehab within 21 days. He's now being told that it will likely be Willard, even though the revocation specialist and the judge both suggested it would be a regular rehab facility somewhere in NY. Perhaps this was just ignorance on their part, since the DOC can ultimately do whatever they want with him, as long as it falls within the guidelines of the sentence (which Willard does).

Any experience with a loved one NOT going to Willard in this situation? I know he'll be okay there -- he's a "guy's guy", incredibly fit, and knows how to get into a good position by being a porter or otherwise making it known that he's a hard worker, but we were really hoping for something more therapeutic, as he's older and he's been down this road many times before.

Thanks in advance, my friends!
Xo

Hi there! No, thank goodness. He had a medical exception and he went to Hale Creek. Good thing for herniated discs....................

My bf got transferred there Tuesday....
97 day countdown started then. Now down to 95. I know its going to be pretty intense. I hope he can hang in there and get thru it.

During the brief times you have to talk, just assure him everything will be okay and it's almost over. It doesn't have to be an agonizing 97 days, but it can be if he doesn't take care of himself mentally.

For you, the time will fly. Just keep yourself busy. 3 months is nothing compared to the freedom he's got once he's out.

Agreed, I was able to talk to him last night for 8 minutes and he said he will try to call again this weekend. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to visit.
I'll def be keeping myself busy- hes already been in since 12/9 and it seems like forever but at the same time has gone by relatively quickly.
Nights/evenings after work and on weekends when I'm off I find the time to be the longest so I've made a point to make plans for every weekend that I can find someone to do something with....otherwise I read.
I def told him last night that I have faith and that I believe him in and that he can do this!! Just to keep his head up and to be strong. I'll remind him of that every time I'm able to tell him!
Thanks for the additional support.

No problem! Any time! My boyfriend was in NJ via interstate transfer, and when he relapsed, they were cool and just put him in a mandatory drug program, but he got caught with tobacco rolling papers there and they kicked him out, and he ended up getting sent back to NY. The whole process of him getting his preliminary hearing and his revocation hearing has taken since AUGUST and his relapse was July, so as you can imagine, I'm definitely ready for this shit to be over. Hopefully he is too, you know what I mean?!

I know!!! So agonizing. They don't care if you're sitting in there for 6 months before you get transferred. But keep the eyes on the prize - if he minds his business, he'll be fine, and if he gets out and shapes up, he'll really be fine!
