Give me your thoughts on a sentence for Wire Fraud.
Im 51 years old no prior record. I may be indicted by a federal grand jury for theft or wire fraud total under 30000. Do you think I will be eligible to go to a federal prison camp and self surrender and give me your thoughts on how long thanks. Not indicted yet just have that feeling.

I have a very similar situation and have the same questions. Will look forward to the responses.
I got in trouble for Bank Fraud and my loss was in the millions. I was able to self-surrender at camp level and got 39 months. Just got out in November.
I posted a thread on my experience at the Duluth camp under "Welcome Home from Federal Prison".
My attorney, I don't think, was very good, but I hired a sentencing consultant and the feeling vary widely on whether they're effective or not, but mine was awesome and helped get a sentence reduction. Worth it for me and they usually have had prison experience and can tell you how the system works much better than an attorney.

If that amount stays at that level and you don't get a lot of enhancements (like for using special skills to commit the crime) you could qualify for a local sentence, either probation or halfway house/house arrest. The very best thing you could do now is to get together every dime you can to give to your attorney to make good the money.
Pled out to 1 count wire fraud stayed out until sentencing and received 27 months in with Duluth recommendation and 90days to self surrender. My crime involved over $600,000 over 5 year period. I will be happy to get this behind me.

I agree with this completely. Start getting as much money together to pay this back (make restitution) if you get a head of it you may be able to avoid a federal charge all together. If you can come up the money contact an atty and have him start working on getting the restitution paid. Its a delicate process and you will want him to do it for you so you are not inadvertently admitting guilt...
