No. California to the south, Washington to the north. Not Oregon. Kills me everytime I go to bed without her.

I read a white paper in which the author found states that permit conjugals think they're beneficial. Costs of controlling visits, facilities, etc. may be a big negative factor for states that don't permit them.

Its not just for spouses. Kids suffer more then we do. Thankfully our kid is a bit older, but watching an 8 year old try to process what is going on in a visiting room is sometimes hard to watch. Its tough to see them with tears streaming down their faces. No doubt the money needed to keep this type of visit is a reason its down to so few states. The DOC in Oregon will help pay for gender changes, but not let a family spend a night together. Makes sense to me.

Our first few years of V.R. family visits were terrible. They really messed up our daughter. She was only 3 when her mom went in.

Is there a link for said white paper please? I plan on fighting to get family visits/conjugal visits for PA inmates....and any written information I can utilize, would be awesome.

My husband and I would dearly love to have 'those' visits....he's a Lifer currently, without parole, so we've had to learn many different ways of being intimate and sensual, and I believe we have it perfected, but it would still be nice to feel his arms around me all night, and not just at the start & end of a visit.

If successful in getting them for PA, then I'd branch out and fight to get them elsewhere. I have been told that it's in PA constitution (or something similar) that conjugal visits are allowed, but it's at the discretion of each superintendent, so all I gotta do, is find the weakest link and chip away lol

I'm with you. I'd take a chance on getting in trouble if it meant we could be together for a little while.

I don't even dream about it to be honest. It will never happen in his state and if it did they would exclude him on two factors. So I don't even allow myself to think about it.

They are very unlikely in our state. They even took away inmate tablets a retrograde step when other states are introducing them.
For all the talk about inmates and the importance of family contact it is just talk.
