Default Housing in Virginia

My best friend will be released next summer. We are trying to find him a place to live. I do not like the idea of him going to a halfway house.
Does anyone have any ideas?

personally I think halfway house are great. It's a support system for lots of people who would not have any coming out of prison.

We know about the halfway houses but I think he would be better off with a normal housing situation.

Does he have a support system, friends or family in a particular area as that would be the best place to start. What sort of accomodation is he looking for? Will there be any parole restrictions on where he can live.
There are lots of variables according to his circumstances.
I appreciate you think he would be better off avoiding a half way house, but does he feel the same and has he looked into it.It can be a supportive starting point for many to readjust back into society.

Just trying to figure out why you think he'd be better in a "normal" housing situation? I have known many who have come out of prison most who go to halfway houses do somewhat better as it's a great source of support and resources in the community.
