Medical marijuana helps so many different typed of patients, but the money spent on fighting a drug war has to be justified some how and if they didnt have to fight the evils of weed (LOL) they couldnt justify the billions spent on the DEA...but I digress

(Climbs off soap box)

They arrest more people for pot than any other drug. Granted the arrests are mostly for possesion however its still an arrest which can be devastating. It is long past due that the Government relax on the medical marijuana and focus on "real" crime. The drug war is long since lost. Prohibition DID NOT WORK in the 20's it sure as shooting is not working now. Rehab and detox cost a fraction of what the law enforcement/prison/prosecution costs are. We create more crime by locking up basically honest citizens for non-violent drug offenses. The fact remains that most people realize marijuana is simply NOT a serious drug and does not deserve the punishments that go along with it. I am a big Obama supporter, basically because Bush and all his dads cronies have devastated this country, not because he is doing such a "good" job. I am sure some where behind this new US attorneys attacks there is a white houes push. AND he knows better, he really betrays the 20+ crowd who believed he would finally be a progressive president for prison and drug reform.
