Graduated High School, and attempted college, but quit to work full time.

College is overrated *for me*. I'd rather work full time and not stress about papers and grades. I work at a state agency and do well for myself without a degree.

Default Registered Nurse

I love my man with all my heart. He was just sentence thursday to five years, 85%. I am a registered nurse with a bachelors degree. I thought my family wouldn't approve, but they told me that if I love him, stick by his side. I was pleasantly surprised. I love my man and being a nurse or a doctor or a baffoon has nothing to do with your heart. When I finish my pHd if we are still together, I will be in love with a man who once sold drugs. ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE US, KEEP YA HEAD UP TRAVIS!!!

I have a four year degree in Criminal Justice from an univerisity in Virginia. I met my husband when we were 17. We are fourty now. He does not even have a 8th grade education but, sometimes I think he is smarter than I am. I never tell anyone my husband is in prison for the next 2 years due to his drinking problems. It is embarrassing and I am afraid they will look down on me.

You know we need to educate those ignorant persons that we have degrees AND love our inmate!! I have 2 degrees 1 a B.S. in Social Work and my A.A.S in Nursing of which I am a licensed RN. I have had people say to me you could do better or behind my back That's a damn shame....she hooked up with a loser....and yet some of these same people have spouses who run around on them, etc....Yes I love my inmate and I am proud to claim this!!

BA major in History, minor in English, MALS in Liberal Studies and 2 years of Law School, did not finish because I hated it.

Thinking about going back for a PHD which in these times could possibly snag me an adjunct teaching position at a community college.

That would be great because I did my basics at community college then transferred the credits to a 4 year.

BTW, I received my BA when I was 38, almost a decade ago. Was on the 20 year plan LOL.

I graduated from High School with a Vocationl Seal in Nursing and my CNA. Now I am in college working towards my Associates in Criminal Justice with a 3.8 GPA. Upon graduation I will be entering into the GA PB as a Parole Officer and hopefully be able to help others out there in the similar position of my hunny.

cblueiis, thank you for what you said, it is the truth. So many ignorant people want to go on and on about what we are doing when their men may not be in prison but I can guarantee you that Ryan has never and will never lay a hand on me or run around behind my back! So thank you and tell 'em girl!

Working on my AA then transferring to get my bachelors...By the time he gets out I should be out of med school and just starting my residency (I want to be an ob/gyn) He did a year at a cc...my family is upset that I am choosing to marry him (before he gets out) because I will pretty much be taking care of him for awhile when he gets out....and the odd idea that he will be an ex-con and I will be a MD..smh...I dont mind tho...I love my man with everything that I have and will have...my education level has and will never change my feelings toward him...

I am almost done with my bachelors in behavioral science. I'm only 21, but I plan on continuing on and getting a masters degree.
Love really has nothing to do with education, education is something that prepares you for the type of job you want. I feel that people base education level way too much on quality of a person...and that is not a determining factor for quality. I feel that quality comes from the heart. I think people who have experienced things, are educated in different ways, that you cannot get a degree in.

I have an associates and am completing my bachelor's degree. He's in the process of completing his GED. People everywhere are involved in relationships where one or the other may have a higher level of "education" than the other. I find it funny how people don't make these same comparisons when talking about the white collar criminals (who may or may not ever see a day in a cell)...
