Hi there! Such an exciting time for you and the soon to be Mr! Yes, he needs to request a marriage packet. Once he fills out his info, he should send to you and you can fill out the rest. I expect the next ceremonies to take place in March. Last year they were held in March and Oct. J Bell was the wedding counselor when we got married this March. There is also paperwork that you need to send directly to the county clerk's office once your paperwork has been approved. (Please read my other prior posts in this thread ~ a lot of this has been posted before!). Good luck! We got married this March and I'm still glowing to be his wife!

yikes!! We needed a copy of his birth certificate… you can get that in the county in which he was born, but the person who is requesting an original of it has to be a relation to him… Or, there is paperwork that he can fill out and get notarized from within for them to send a copy to him (and then he can send to you). but he also has to have enough money on his books to be able to pay for it. My now hubby's mom had to get me a copy, but if he has siblings, they can get one as well. (I did for my brother in the last few months). Hope that helps!

I paid $150.00, or similar (can no longer remember) to the County Clerk's office. This covered the officiant. You also have to pay for your marriage certificates, I think they are around $15.00/each. I recommend you get at least two, so that you can keep one and you can send one to Jamestown so that you can get a FV as quick as possible… hope that helps!

Does anyone know the process for getting married on C yard? I'm guessing those guys don't follow the other posts and go to firecamps for the ceremonies.

Default Jamestown wedding procedures

I'm new to this site and this prison wedding thing too. My question is this what's the dress code for the marriage ceremony? And what about the rings can they have a black wedding band?

Yes, my ring was the engagement ring and band. Look for his and her wedding sets and you'll see all the different options you have. Mine are sterling silver and his is tungsten carbide. The shipping was also great because it didn't take too long.

Money for your fees? You need approval first, so you turn in the packet without fees, then you follow up with the county clerk for your payment/fees... See my prior threads ~ LOTS of info!! Good luck with the approval process, etc!

Ladies question did the marriage coordinator take more then a week to give ur men the marriage packet? My man been waiting for a week well pretty much all the guys wanting to get married and she hasn't passed them out. They submitted another request tonight. But I was thinking should I wait to see what happens this week or give her a call and ask. Cause we only have a 45 day window to get those forms out n back with the money. N it's already cut into that time.
