Hello,

I am new this to this so I apologize if I am not exactly sure what to put. I know right now my heart is shattered into a million pieces ( seems like it ) My son is 21 and I just feel numb. I am new to all of this, do not want to expect at this moment. I just have so many emotions going on right now and thought maybe a support group would help.

Welcome, Sundrop. So sorry for whatever circumstances bring you here, but I can tell you that you will find love, understanding, advice, open ears, open hearts, no judgments, and lots and lots of support here. It's been a lifesaver for me. Ask questions, vent, say something or say nothing...We all walk this path together. Sending you hugs and prayers.

Welcome Sundropgirl, I am so sorry you are going through this too. I can tell you are feeling just what I felt 8 years ago when the world tipped and I felt like I fell off! Shattered is how I described myself. Yes it will help you finding this support group, we have lots of people who just read the posts and never reply or start any threads and they still reap the benefits. Just knowing you are not alone in this journey is a huge help. Feel free to share what you feel comfortable with, ask any questions you need to. We have all been just where you are today, I will hold you and your son up in my prayers. Big hug to you!

Welcome to the neighborhood. Sorry you had to move in but happy you found us.i to have been here since 2006 it saved my life.the lady's here helped me when i needed it.good luck and big. Hugs to you.

Hello, I know exactly how you feel. I am feeling the same way. They took my 19 year
old 4 months ago and don't plan on giving him back anytime soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Welcome to the BEST SUPPORT GROUP EVER!! This journey is difficult - oh so very difficult - only made easier for me by the ladies (and gents) here.. We understand like no one else does. Family (unless they too have incarcerated children) try - but fall far short because no one feels the pain like a mother. One post here - around Mothers Day - put it into words.... the son wrote/said to his mom that he finally understood why she was so upset - because she bore him a part of her is in prison with him.... and so it is.... a piece of us is in there with all our children....

We are here for you sundrop...

I would like to know if cadc is still in lockdown?(in florence AZ.?) Have not heard from my son and they will not tell me by phone if there is visitation this Sunday
We live 2 hours away and do not want to drive there if we can't see him Thank you

I am new and I am not certain how to go about trying to find threads for a certain facility. It is Evans CI in Bennettsville, SC. My son is there and was stabbed a couple of weeks ago. He seems to be OK at this time.

Any help is appreciated!

Hello and Welcome to the Parents forum of PTO.
There are a few ways to find what you are looking for. I think the easiest is to go to the top of this page on the left hand side you will see a box that says "Search PrisonTalk.com" Under that there is white box, type in Evans CI then click on go. after that a new page will show up with threads that have what you typed in. You could also type in SC prisons and look from there.
There is also way way to find the SC forums~ I think it's at the top of the page are some tabs, click on US Regional and look from there.
I hope this hels you navigate this site a little bit better. I det the Parents forum as a favorite that way I go straight here when I log on. Good luck

I'm so sorry sundrop. We are new to this, too. I can tell you that what has helped my sanity is researching everything I can on the internet. And when I couldn't find the answers, I came here. Calling the prison, asking about rules, researching that prison on-line, and writing long, long letters to my son, has kept me sane. And sending him information about the courts and prison system, helps me to help him. I've actually learned alot about the system. And everything I learn, my son learns, cause I share it with him. I'll be praying for you and your family, and ask that you pray for ours.

Welcome to the family sundrop...so sorry for your pains and troubles....but thankful you found your way to us....
I know you are numb...and that is part of the protection from feeling everything at once. Please take time to read the "sticky" at the top .."stages of greif" it will help you get a handle on what you are feeling...and will help you deal with it.
We all know the nightmare...and our hearts break with yours. We will encourage you, and offer support, comfort in that you don't ever have to walk this painful path alone...understanding and HOPE...NEVER LOSE HOPE.
I promise to keep you and your son in my prayers...
You'll find that you are stronger than you could ever imagine...and you WILL get THROUGH this...and so will your son.
I hope to see you posting so we can get to know you...and we tend to lean on each other...and it surely helps lighten the load.
