Question Parole hearing/letters: Is it good to include reference to treatment & AA?

My son's probation was revoked and he was incarcerated in Missouri on Dec. 5 2016 for a 3rd DUI. Prior to that hearing he had completed in-patient treatment for alcohol abuse and continued in out-patient as well as AA since...achieving a year of sobriety. He is preparing for his first parole hearing and we have obtained all of the items recommended for presenting his case of appeal: letter from employer, letter from AA sponsor, letters of support from friends & family. He wants to let the board know that he is remorseful and has determination & resolve to stick with his program and keep alcohol out of his life forever but is not sure how best to do that. He has everything in order for when he is released: a job, a car and an apartment with his girlfriend. Any suggestions? Is it good to include reference to the treatment & AA participation or will that be viewed negatively? Thanks for any help!

I hope you mentioned all the things you listed above in your letter to the board, including the treatment and AA. When he sees the Board, he should be remorseful and take responsibility for his behavior = do not blame "alcohol," but blame himself and talk about what he has done (rehab / AA, any programs/classes while incarcerated) to better himself.

Good Luck!! I hope he is granted parole!!

I found it! Great. I will make sure he makes that first and foremost. Thanks so much.
