Question About foodstamps and marriage...in Georgia

Hey please help me out with this anyone please! Well My fiance is in Mc Ever PDC and a probationer there...and we want to get married when he gets out and plus we have a 3 month old baby girl together. I know he isn't able to receieve foodstamps, but I am. And we want to marry each other. Is there anyway we can get married and not lose my foodstamps or would we lose them? PLEASE!!

Well as far as I know, foodstamps are a gov't issue. I have foodstamps and I am married. My husband is in DOC as well. I told them the situation, and because he isn't in the home, they can't account for him. So just tell them his in incarcerated and you shouldn't have any issues with that! Good luck..

My husband is in prison and I get them. They actually base it on your income and his if he has any. Obviously he does not. You should not have any problem.

You need to follow the rules. If he lives with you, married or not, you need to report his income. It's the only honest and right thing to do. If your income is within the guidelines for your state, you'll get your foodstamps. If your total income is out of the range, then you obviously have enough money to pay for your groceries.
