Default Release question! Anyone heard of not being released on the release date?

Has anyone heard of someone NOT being released on there release date? My son is supossed to be released in 3 weeks, but his parole officer hasn't even check out the residence yet. I keep calling and leaving messages, but doesn't return any of my calls.

You might check with Time Comp and confirm that he is being released and then check to see if he actually HAS parole. I met a girl who's bf was in Yuma with my bf. He was released in May at his 85% date and he did NOT have to do parole! NO PO ever called, checked in, etc. He's been super cautious since his release since he still has a supervision end date on record. But to date, no one has ever called him!!

The Time Computation Unit has responsibility for the calculation of release eligibility dates for all offenders and oversight of the institution release processes. This would include the auditing of intake documents for accuracy, recalculation of release eligibility dates due to forfeiture of release credits, a change in release credits earned due to disciplinary sanctions and monitoring of the release eligibility dates.

Audit Intake: Ensures accurate information from court documents is annotated in Adult Inmate Management System (AIMS). Calculates offender release date(s) in accordance with the certified sentencing order and applicable statutes. Requests clarification from sentencing court or Department's General Counsel on discrepancies in court orders. Forwards restitution information to Inmate Banking.
Sentence Modifications: Verifies additional sentences and sentence modifications. Re-calculates release dates based on certified sentencing orders. Verifies authenticity of conviction and sentence vacates.
Board of Executive Clemency (BOEC) Certification: Certifies eligible offenders for BOEC review monthly. Verifies eligibility for commutation and/or pardon and forward applications to the Board of Executive Clemency.
Forfeitures/Restorations and Class III Rescissions: Reviews and verifies all recommendations for forfeiture, restoration or rescissions. Ensures policy compliance. Processes approved actions and re-calculate time accordingly.

Also, if he does have a PO, sometimes they wait till about a week or so before they are released, to check on the address. Keep calling, if anything call his counselor. Good luck!

Thank you! I called, they said his release date is August 11 but it's not guaranteed. She said they had until July 19th to check the residence (which was yesterday) Guess he's not getting an early release even though he hasn't gotten any tickets. She told me to contact his parole officer...I have left several messages with him and also his supervisor. Not even a call back. I have talked to his counselor, she just tells me to keep calling his PO. This is all a bunch of BS!!!!!!

That's good that you called. Keep calling and leaving voice messages. Is there anyone else in the PO's office that you can speak to that can clarify his release date with you?? Also, I know when I don't get anywhere after the ump-teenth voice message, I start sending correspondence (faxes, emails, etc). I notice when I start to leave a "paper trail," I start to get answers. Good luck!

Another bit of advice, uses your cell phone and print up your calls that you have made to the PO. This way, you can show them how many times you have called.

Good luck!!

Welcome to ADC....every single thing we do is a battle! I have also learned not to believe a word anyone says. My hubby's release date was 9/29/11. As he was literally changing into his street clothes he was told his release date was changed to 10/29/11. Just a heads up. I hope your release goes better than mine.

Just shows how incompetent the DOC is. Dept of Chaos and Confusion. How in the world can they let someone go all the way to the gate, change clothes AND THEN, say..."oh I'm sorry, you have another 60 days". Seriously?!!? Does it really matter at that point.

Let our loved ones come home!!

Make sure that he has completed his release packet on his end as well. If he is leaving "on paper" aka on parole that will need to be done as well. Cover all your bases!!

It depends entirelly on his release conditions. If he has a parole officer, he is getting out on 85%. His parole time is that remainder. My release packet was not approved from DOC counil until 9 days before release. My parole officer was swamped with cases.

He wants to see 3 things - no drugs, clean home, and your background.
If you live in a rental. He WILL ask the landlord if you can move in. - best way - let your landlord know ahead of time. Even if you have to promise to the landlord he just needs time untill Apartment BLA BLA BLA becomes available. (even if it is not true).

Dont worry - he will get ahold of you.

Graffiti...thanks so much for all your insight!! Great to have a little insider knowledge postings.

As you have probably figured out, the AZ forum is mostly moms, bf, fiance and wives, trying to get through this crazy time. There was one guy who stood by his girlfriend until her release, but for the most part, it's all women here, just looking for answers and a place to share information.

To have a guy's point of view, especially one that's been there, and willing to share is a breath of fresh air for all of us!!
