Try to be a realist, sometimes with a dose of optimism on the side.

What of the 3 traits annoy you about others the most ?
I would chose realist, if I could only choose one. I try and keep things real and in perspective, no matter what the situation is. I can also be all three, depending on the situation.

The biggest annoyance is when someone is too optimistic about something that is a clear disaster to others.

I voted realistic, but I'm pretty pessimistic too. Things aren't good in my world, the US or the wider world at the present. I think several thresholds have been passed, and it's full steam ahead for the lot of us into the social, environmental, and economic upheavals that are soon to be upon us. Maybe tomorrow, maybe 4 or 5 years from now, but in either event get ready to live in historical times.

I hope for the silver lining and plan for the worst. I think I feel the need to have a plan "in case" while I still go about life with my head in the clouds figuring the one thing in life you can count on is change is ongoing. All of this, to me, feels likes I am being realistic about life and possibilities.

What I hate most is when anyone says, "It could be worse." To me that is being pessimistic. No one says "it could be better" except for when they are saying it in a negative way.

What I hate most about optimists is all those memes and sayings whose purpose appears to be to encourage you, especially when they are posted on FB or sent in emails and texts.

The reason I am optimistic is because if I'm not I will go into depression and possibly drink. I'm a sober alcoholic and addict and if I'm not in a positive mood then it's very easy for me to go back to my miserable pessimistic self. I taught myself to be optimistic and life has become a lot more manageable thinking for the best. I also hate all those positive posts and emails and honestly I don't like people in general but I'm always looking for the best in everything for my own personal reasons

I've grown a lot in the past years. But in that time I've always remained a Realist. Overall I do find myself being more Optimistic toward my life situations and success but it's always good to stay grounded by remaining Realistic in the strongest sense.
