Hello There,
Well evern though they are your family they don't know every thing some women are not meant to date men with 9-5 jobs or that are in a coperation love don't look at those type of things. I didn't graduate from High School but about two years ago I graduated from Bryman College with honors for medical assistance but when they raided our house a year ago I got a sales case on my stupidness and now I won't be able to use that degree for about 7 yrs but I am not crying over spilled milk I am doing what makes me happy and that is being in love with my husband no matter what he does or what type of degree I have. Hope that helps you much love.

i already have my bachelors and i am going for my masters. i wouldnt think a difference in education could cause a problem in a relationship. i see tons of very smart people married to people as smart as cork every day and they always seem happy.

Well Fathien,,is it really that the other person is dumb?? ,,or just has a different sort of *education*(streets, life expereince) So they bring a different type of smarts to the table which might intrigue the other person and have them just as much in awe of what they know,,,I never thought that *formal* education made people smart,,Today it seems like it just means you had the resources financially and time to get that piece of paper.

Every time I check this thread I become more proud. PTO polls we are not what eveyone assumes us to be like. Education was stressed in my family because we are from the south and my mother went to segregated schools and grew up in a time when it was hard for African-Americans to receive an education.

I didn't think that Fathien insinutated that one without a *formal* education was 'dumb'?

currently I am enrolled p/t - just waiting for the program to open up for finanacial aid, to attend f/t .. for registered nursing. and yes, I intend upon persuing a bachleors degree, not just an associates! Charlie already has a certificate in welding and hopes to utilize that in his work release placement.

the sky's the limit! education helps to open more doors in this life.

I have a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and a Master of Arts Degree in English Literature from Eastern Michigan...my boyfriend has a 10th grade education and can barely write (he knows this and often jokes about his lack of writing skills)--nonetheless, we love each other because we have a similar, poverty striken background...

Education doesn't dictate who you fall in love with, it just may put you in a position to fall in love with someone where ever you are in life. My boo only graduated from high school and his 5yrs my senior. I'm am a sophomore in college...I'm working in my BS in Biology and I intend to attend med school. Pray that I get in guys!!

I have a MBA and am going to attend Law School in about a year...pigeon holeing someone into who they are supposed to be in love with, is narrow minded. Intelligence isn't measured in the degrees we have on our walls. My family also is irrate at me because of being in love with an inmate.

I am in the same boat as most of you. My family looks down on my fiance because he is an inmate. They also give me the line that I am a educated person from a educated family and we do not fall for inmates. I tell them that I look past his past and see him for who he is now and that as long as we love each other that is all that matters. By the way I have a BA in Pysch. with a minor in Early Childhood Education.
