Default Parole granted 2014 but not released

My Dad was granted parole in 2014 and was to attend a 9 month "positive" rehab program then be released. After 15 months of being extended in the program he has been dismissed and sent back to the prison. Who do we contact about what is going on and to voice concerns regarding the "positive" rehab?

Its sounds like he was to be paroled upon completion of the program.....if he was "dismissed" from the program, he did not complete it. Hence, his parole is no longer on the table. However, he may be eligible for another parole hearing at some point. The only catch is, they may or may not grant it based on this outcome and/or grant parole again with the stipulation that he complete the program....or they could give him a "serve-out" No way of knowing exactly what they'll do.

Since this appears to be an FI-9R voted by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, it would help to know what the tentative program-begin date was associated with the vote, and from there to know if the transfer for programming actually took place in that month.

That being said, if he got bounced from the program, then there was one of three things that has occurred: 1) he was not diligently participating and has been processed out for failures on his part, 2) he picked up disciplinary sanction that resulted in a loss of time or status or 3) there has been a protest of his release which resulted in the vote being rescinded (and would pull him out of the program).

In the event the Board has already yanked the vote, then a Next Review date will have been set when it was rescinded. If this is a case subject to the Extraordinary Vote requirements, then the Next Review SHOULD be keyed to the original date (in other words, that date plus three years since the revisions to law did not exist at that time). You will see the Next Review information viewable online...

CenTexLyn: He was to start the class March of 2015 and finish no earlier than Nov 2015. Class started January 2015 and we figured he would have to stay through November 2015. I know that he committed a crime and has to serve time. He has been there 12 years and this is his only arrest. There was something going on from the "inside" which prevented him from progressing. The "counselors" "losing" his work and saying it was never turned in. Being passed through one phase of class then made to start all over because "they don't show where he ever did the work." The counselors didn't like that he wouldn't curse then started lying about his life as if it were true. We have a long list of injustices from the "counselors". He couldn't say anything or face retaliation. All he wants is to go home. The parole officer had already visited the home where he would be living. We just don't know who to contact.

We have spoken with him on a couple of occasions and placing another call this week since he was out of the office last week. So far, he says one thing but something else happens. Who is above him? People have said we need to write the parole board but I am not sure if that would be beneficial.

It looks like we will be writing the parole board again. At what point are they made award of the non-completion of the class? Should his parole status be changing soon? Is there something we should be waiting for from them before writing letters?
