What is the difference between a state's attorney general and US District Attorney?
Is there a difference btw Attorney General and the US District attorney?
The newest charges are being brought by the Attorney General. I am not familiar with that.
I would be greatful for any information on this.
I may be incorrect, but I believe the state attorney general would bring state charges and the US District attorney would do federal charges. So technically different court systems.
That is exactly right States Attorney General would bring the charges for whatever state he/she belongs to, where U.S. District attorney would bring charges for the government. It all depends what the charges are to qualify for Federal or State, like going across state lines etc. would be considered Federal, but at the same time if the state wants to persue charges they can also.
