Red face Heading out tomorrow!

Well the time has finally come and tomorrow I leave and self-surrender to Sheridan. I'm gonna take a 2 hour flight to there and call an Uber to drive me to McMinnville and spend the night there and self-surrender the next day at 9am. A little nervous about going alone but I bought an old iPhone and gonna try to facetime with family the whole way there. I just hope these first month or two go by fast so I can settle in and get passed the homesickness, I hate that feeling. Thanks again to you all, wish me luck!

Good luck to you! And you know what? I am confident that you will find out you are much stronger than you think you are; you will get through this and once the dust settles, it will hopefully have been a useful life lesson and made you a better person. Hope that doesn't sound patronising

Take care of yourself and please come back here to let us know how you're doing once it is over. You got this!!

Don't rush into anything after you self surrender. Prison is completely different from anything else you have ever experienced. Take your time to understand things like inmate etiquette, which will be important in how you are treated by the other inmates and the staff.

Being as invisible as possible is often a good way to start out. Also choose your acquaintances carefully, they may not turn out to be anything like they pretend to be initially.

You will do fine, as most of the other millions of us have done in the same situation, and each day is one day closer to going home.

Thank you, it doesn't sound patronising at all and I agree 100%. Will definitely do an update on Sheridan when I get back. Will write in there and will be as detailed as possible for any new people going in.

Thanks. I will do my best to, I'm a pretty introverted person especially in new surroundings, I will just sit back and observe for a while.

I'm tired of counting down days until imprisonment and I'm ready to count down days until I can put all this behind me. Self-Surrendering has been a blessing and after taking care of all the financials and etc. for my family I feel like I'm ready.
